SCOUTING ARMY
- The Black Knights began their 2017 campaign last weekend with a 13-12 over Marist.
- Rachel Hornick netted a career-high seven goals in the game to set a program record. This feat also gave her Army Athletic Association Army of the Week and Patriot League Attacker of the Week honors.
- Erin Jollota dished out five assists in the game, also a program record.
- Maddie Burns stepped into net for the final 42 minutes of play and made eight saves. The freshman was given a Patirot League Rookie of the Week nod for her performance in her first collegiate contest.
SCOUTING MANHATTAN
- The Jaspers open their 2017 season Saturday against the Black Knights for the second straight year.
- Manhattan finished 2016 with a 4-13 mark with wins over Army (14-9), UMass Lowell (12-11 OT), Central Connecticut State (9-8) and New Hampshire (13-11).
- The Jaspers graduated their top three goal scorers last season, but welcome back Molly Fitzpatrick who netted 22 and added six assists on the year.
- Nikki Prestiano returns to net for Manhattan after starting in 13 games last year. She made 99 saves and picked up all four wins.
SHOT CLOCK
- A 90-second possession clock rule will be employed in all NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse contests. This rule states the offensive team must register a shot within a 90-second window or the opposition will be awarded the ball at its location on the field when time expired.
- The clock will be reset on a shot that is deflected by the goalkeeper or on a shot that hits the piping on the goal. The clock will also reset on all changes of possession and when any card has been issued to the team without possession.
- The possession clock will keep counting down toward zero on shots that go wide or high of the goal.
