Black Knights Travel to League Championships

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After a couple of weeks rest, the Army West Point women's swimming and diving team is ready for the Patriot League Championships, which is set to begin on Wednesday at Bucknell.
The four-day event at Kinney Natatorium will begin with the women's three-meter diving trials on Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the day's event finals starting at 6 p.m. Swimming preliminaries begin on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by finals each of the three days at 6 p.m.

Heading into the Patriot League Championship, the Black Knights have a pair of swimmers that lead their events with the best time in 2017 among league competitors.

Kelly Hamilton is the top swimmer in the 100 back after posting a time of 54.10 seconds this year, while Josephine Marsh clocked in at 1:58.52 in the 200 back during the year. Both of those times are NCAA B qualifying times.
Sabrina Mortell is looking to defend her title in the 1650 free which she championed at last year's meet with in Academy record time of 16:36.22.

Navy comes into the event as the favorite as the Mids have captured six-straight sweeps at the championships, but Army will look to end that streak this week.
