Women Second After Day One of PL Championships

DAY 1 RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Army West Point women's swimming and diving team opened the 2017 Patriot League Championships on Wednesday and sit second after the first day of competition at Bucknell.
Boston University is in first after day one with 131 points, followed by the Black Knights with 94 points and then Navy following close behind at 93 points.
"Solid first session for the women," head coach Mickey Wender said. "I am especially proud of our divers for both getting into the finals and performing well. The best is yet to come."

FIRST DAY HIGHLIGHTS
- The women's team of Cecelia Croman, Kara Wineinger, Kelly Hamilton and Bailey Smith took home the second spot in the 200 medley relay, clocking in at 1:42.03.
- The team of Bridget Ritter, Monica Sowinski, Sidney Evans and Jess Burkett finished fifth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:25.45.
- The finals of the 3-meter dive took place tonight and Serica Hallstead was Army's top finisher with a score of 284.50, which was less than a point behind the second spot.
- Kathryn Seyer ended up seventh in the finals with a score of 259.25.
UP NEXT
- The championships return tomorrow with the prelims in multiple events beginning at 10 a.m., while the finals will take place at 6 p.m.
