Black Knights Geared for Meeting with Huskies

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team returns to action this Friday at 5 p.m. for a dual meet with UConn at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium.

"UConn is a great program," head coach Mickey Wender said. "They are well-coached and balanced. We are excited about the opportunity to rekindle our long standing series with them after several years off. Our team is ready to race and looking forward to the challenge. We have been training very hard and we are looking forward to getting on the road again and being tested. This will be a fun month with the Terrier Invitational coming up next week and the star match happening in 28 days."
ARMY NOTABLES
- The Black Knights dropped a dual meet to Columbia, 168-129, in their last outing.
- Army won five events against Lions.
- Kevin Doo placed first in the 100 fly and also placed second in the 100 free before anchoring the 400 free relay team that bested the competition.
- The Cadets and Huskies have met 14 times and have split the series an even 7-7.
UCONN NOTABLES
- The Huskies have played to a perfect 3-0 to start the 2017-18 season.
- UConn has captured victories over St. Bonaventure, Fordham and Southern Connecticut St.
- In the dual meet with Connecticut St., the Huskies claimed 11 of the 16 events.
- Mark Hunter won the 100 and 200 breast, while Kyle Kimura took first in the 100 fly and 100 free.
