El Paso, Texas – Army West Point golf team sits tied for 12th after the second day at the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Invitational, hosted by Texas-El Paso.
The Black Knights carted a score of 302 (+18) during day two of the tournament to be 29 over par heading into the final day. The home team pulled away a little from the strong competition and currently sits at 10 under par after posting a score of 283 on Saturday.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
• Rookie James McKee is still holding strong and is tied for 16th place with four other golfers after notching a 73 (+2) on the day.
• Gunnar Doyle moved up a few spots and is tied for 55th following his 5 over par performance. He finished with a score of 76.
• Nick Turner shot a 77 (+6), while Justin Williamson carted a 78 (+7) on Saturday to make them both tied for 61st.
• Matt Plunkett closed out the Army golfers after notching a 76 (+5) to be tied for 67th. Â
• Calvin Ross of Texas State is currently in the lead at 9 under par after recorded a 69 on the second day.
• Sunday's final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 8:15 a.m. (MT).
