Army Readies for Home Series with Leopards, Bison

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point volleyball team returns to action at Gillis Field House Friday and Saturday nights with home matches against Lafayette and Bucknell. Both will begin at 7 p.m.

ARMY (13-8, 6-2 Patriot League)
- The Black Knights defeated Navy and Lehigh in two thrilling five-set victories last weekend.
- The victories were both over opponents ranked higher than Army in the Patriot League.
- Carolyn Bockrath earned Athlete of the Week honors from Army and the Patriot League for her 4.6 kills per set performance. Through 10 sets, Bockrath hit .462 and had just three errors.
- Haven Bethune stepped up big for the Black Knights with a career-high 66 assists against the Mids. She totaled 101 on the weekend and averaged 10.1 assists per set.
- Ellie Petersen led Army's defenses with a career-high 44 digs opposite Navy and had a 5.90 digs per set.
- The Black Knights top the league in several categories including kills (14.03 per set) and assists (13.12), while the Cadets rank second in hitting percentage (.253).
- Bockrath is currently tied for 19th nationally in hitting percentage (.403) and is third in the Patriot League for kills per set with 3.50.

LAFAYETTE (5-16, 2-6 Patriot League)
- Lafayette enters the weekend with a 5-16 mark and are 2-6 in league play. The Leopards recently defeated Loyola (3-1) and also topped Holy Cross (3-1).
- Julia Howard paces Lafayette with 6.42 assists per set which ranks sixth in the league just behind Bethune's 6.58.
- Earlier this season, Army topped Lafayette with a 3-0 score on the road.
- Army West Point Athletics is doing its part to help end relationship abuse, and will be present at Friday night's game with the gymnastics team and men's and women's basketball squads.
- In conjunction with the Its On Us campaign, along with our work with the One Love Foundation, members of the men's and women's lacrosse team, CASHA and the community are pushing to end relationship abuse and promote healthy relationships. The goal is to beat last year's pushup campaign of 15k over the course of the weekend.

BUCKNELL (10-10, 4-4 Patriot League)
- Bucknell currently resides at 10-10 on the year and 4-4 in the Patriot League.
- The Bison lead the league in blocks per set as a team with 2.57.
- Bucknell is led by Mimi Richards who boasts 1.53 blocks per set.
- The Bison are coming off a 3-2 victory over Holy Cross and a 3-1 deficit to American.
- Army will be donning its pink jerseys Saturday night for its annual Dig Pink game.
