WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point wrestling team continues to see success from its senior co-captains as Logan Everett and Russ Parsons remain ranked in the national polls that were released on Tuesday.
Everett finds himself 16th in the Intermat poll, 13th in FloWrestling and 10th according to The Open Mat. Meanwhile, Parsons is 15th in Intermat, 11th in FloWrestling and 12th in The Open Mat.
Everett went 1-2 on the weekend with a couple of close matches against a pair of All-Americans. He lost to North Carolina's fifth-ranked Joey Ward, 5-2, and fell 6-5 to eighth-ranked Bryce Meredith of Wyoming, who gained the edge due to riding time. His victory came over Jack Mutchnik of American, 2-0, for the 65th of his career.
Parsons compiled a spotless 3-0 record at the American Duals on Friday, earning 6-2 wins over Joey Moon of North Carolina and Cole Moseley of American. The victory over Moseley was the Clinton, N.J., native's 70th of his career. He closed out the event by taking down then No. 12 Archie Colgan of Wyoming, 6-1.
The Black Knights return to action this weekend when they travel to Philadelphia to take on Penn on Sunday at 1 p.m.
