Women’s Lacrosse Returns to Michie This Weekend

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Winners of three straight, the Army West Point women's lacrosse team hosts Quinnipiac on Saturday, March 5 at noon. A free clinic will be held immediately after the game.

Army finished 2-0 last week to extend its winning streak to three games. The Black Knights most recently played to a 10-8 win at UMass Lowell on Feb. 28 in their first-ever road contest as a varsity program.
Freshman Rachel Treweeke netted a hat trick for Army, while sophomores Rachel Hornick and Amy Johnston, and freshman Kelsea Krauss all scored twice.
ARMY WEST POINT (3-1, 0-0 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Johnston was named Patriot League Attacker of the Week after totaling three goals and four assists in a win over LIU Brooklyn on Feb. 25, to go along with her two-goal effort at UMass Lowell.
• Sophomore Kiersten Spencer scored her first goal of the season in UMass Lowell game, as she provided the Black Knights' 10th goal for the eventual game winner.
• Johnston is Army's leader in goals (11), assists (5), points (16) and draw controls (22), while Hornick and freshman Nikki Polhamus rank second on the squad with seven goals apiece.
• Freshman Kayla Rowley averages 6.5 saves per contest this year, while playing every minute in goal.
QUINNIPIAC (0-3, 0-0 MAAC) NOTES
• Quinnipiac was last in action on Feb. 27, when it fell to a 13-7 defeat at Binghamton.
• Freshman Allison Kuhn led the Bobcats with three goals, four points and four draw controls in the setback.
• Kuhn also leads the way with four goals, five points and seven draw controls on the season.
• Saturday's contest rounds out a four-game road trip to open the season for Quinnipiac, which also played away tilts at Connecticut and Yale before the Binghamton game.
UP NEXT
Army is off for a week before heading to South Carolina for a pair of games over spring break. The Black Knights face Winthrop on Saturday, March 12 at noon before playing Presbyterian on March 14 at 11 a.m.
