Men's Swim & Dive Completes Day 1 of Championships

DAY ONE RESULTS

ANNAPOLIS, MD. – With one session of the Patriot League Championships complete, the Army West Point men's swimming and diving team ranks tied for fourth with 79 points alongside Loyola.

"The team had a solid start tonight," said head coach Mickey Wender. "This is a long four days of racing and we are right where we want to be. A majority of the had lifetime best swims during the relays which is a preview for what is to come the rest of the week. The divers did exceptionally well tonight with career-best scores for both Jake and Eddie."

Army was second in the 200 medley relay when Josh Sembrano, Joseph Daniels, Austin Kong and Brandon McCredie touched the wall in 1:28.99.

The Black Knights placed third in the 800 free relay. Evin Rude, Devin McCall, Jay Yang and Chris Szekely recorded an Academy record time of 6:33.27, over three seconds better than the previous standard.

On the three-meter, Jake Davies and Edward Emery placed 10th and 11th, respectively. Davies earned a career-best 252.70 points in the final, while was 55.6 points higher than his previous best score. Emery notched a score of 249.75 which was also a career-high and 32.93 above his previous best score.

Army will be back in action Thursday through Saturday for the rest of the Patriot League Championships.
