Army Heads to Hamilton, N.Y., to Face Colgate

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point volleyball team heads to Hamilton, N.Y., Friday night for a 6 p.m. match against Colgate. The Black Knights are riding a four-game win streak after they defeated Holy Cross on Tuesday night.

- Army improved to 15-8 overall and 7-2 in the Patriot League over the weekend with wins over Bucknell (3-0) and Lehigh (3-1), and a win over Holy Cross (3-1) on Tuesday night.
- Head coach Alma Kovaci Lee captured the 200th win of her career today and her 14th of the season with the team's victory over the Mountain Hawks. She is the only head coach in Army volleyball history that has eclipsed 200 wins other than Bob Gambardella who totaled 325 in his 13-year career.
- Allie Strong led the Black Knights offensively with 4.27 kills per set over the three matches with a team-high 47 kills. She hit .714 on Friday for a career-high hitting percentage, tallied a career-high 15 kills opposite the Crusaders and totaled eight service aces across the weekend.
- The Black Knights maintained their second-place position in league standings after the first half of the conference season is complete. As a team, the Cadets rank first in kills (13.39) and opponent blocks (1.65), and are second in hitting percentage (.256), opponent hitting percentage (.187) and assists (12.52 per game).
SCOUTING COLGATE
- The Knights hold the 37-29 series lead over the Raiders after defeating them 3-1 earlier this season.
- Army ranks second in the league with a 7-2 record and is followed by Colgate which ranks third with a 6-2 mark.
- Colgate enters the weekend with a 10-9 overall record. Last weekend, the Raiders defeated Bucknell (3-2) and Lafayette (3-0).
- The Raiders lead the league in blocks with 2.32 per set and are second in digs with an average of 15.65 per set. They rank third in hitting percentage (.238), opponent hitting percentage (.196), assists per set (11.99) and kills per set (12.92).
- Individually, Taylor Flaherty tops the PL with 1.08 blocks per set.
