WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore Angelo Matz of the Army West Point sprint football team was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts against Post in Saturday's 64-0 victory by the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) on Tuesday afternoon.
Matz blocked two punts in the contest to give Army the advantage in the field position game in addition to his contributions on the defensive side of the ball. His first block came at the beginning of the second quarter to start the Black Knights at the Post 12 yard line that led to an Army touchdown. The second block came after the Eagles went three-and-out on the opening drive of the second half to set up Army at the Post 20.
The Black Knights return to action this Friday, Oct. 21, for a 7 p.m., kickoff against Franklin Pierce on Senior Night.
