Army Tied For Fourth After First Round

EASTON, Pa. – Matt Philie and Army are both tied for fourth as the first day of competition concluded at the Lafayette Invitational, Sunday at Northampton Country Club.
Philie opened the 36-hole event with a two-over-par 74 and the Black Knights shot a 305 at the par-72, 6,393-yard layout.
St. Peter’s leads the 18-team event following a 302, one stroke better than Lehigh and Central Connecticut State. Army is tied for fourth with Monmouth.
Drexel’s Christopher Crawford and Hofstra’s Brandon Shin each shot an even-par round and lead the tournament.
Play will conclude Monday morning with an 18-hole final round.
While Philie is tied for fourth after 18 holes, Robby Hill is tied for 13th following a 75. Marcus Plunkett and Brandon Baerwaldt each shot 78s and are tied for 37th while Harrison Florence is knotted for 62nd after an 81.
