Head coach Alma Kovaci Lee announced the addition of Ali Berens to the Army West Point volleyball staff in February of 2017. Berens joined the program as an assistant coach after serving in a similar role at Marist for three seasons.

Berens completed her third season as assistant coach for the Marist volleyball team in 2016. She helped lead the Red Foxes to the MAAC championship match in 2014 and 2015 and earn a MAAC regular season title in 2014. Marist has been either the no. 1 or 2 seed in the MAAC Championships each year of Berens' tenure. Â

Berens brings 10 years of experience as a middle blocker, including four seasons playing for the Eastern Illinois University Panthers where she was a team captain her senior year. She led the boys' volleyball team at O’Fallon Township High School to conference and regional championships as an assistant coach.

Berens graduated from Eastern Illinois with a bachelor’s in management and a minor in spanish. Originally from O’Fallon, Illinois, she now resides in Wappingers Falls, New York.
