2014-15: Represented the Black Knights for half the season before studying abroad … placed 11th in the 100 breast during the tri-meet with Buffalo and Michigan State … touched the wall in 1:11.37 … recorded a 2:31.70 in the 200 breast at the Terrier Invitational to place 23rd.
2013-14: Was a top competitor in the 100-breast clocking a 1:07.49 at the Army-Navy meet ... also competed in the 200-breast (2:25.12) ... swam in the 100-IM (1:03.25) 200-IM (2:14.12) and the 400-IM (4:44.07) at the Frank Elm Invitational ... recorded a 1:04.57 in the 100-back at the Army vs. Boston, Colgate and Vermont quad-meet.
2012-13: Enjoyed a strong freshman showing in the breaststroke and backstroke...had a personal best time in the 200 breast touching the wall at 2:31.98 versus Boston, Rowan and Vermont (Oct. 5)...came in sixth in the 200 back versus Buffalo (Nov. 10)...took a fifth place finish in the 200 fly versus American and George Mason (Jan. 19)...had a personal-best time of 2:12.20 in the 200 IM at the Big Brown Invitational (Dec. 2) and Bucknell (Feb.2).
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Helped lead team to a PIAA state championship during junior year at Hershey High School ... also helped squad to runner-up finishes at the state meet as a sophomore and senior ... swam the breaststroke leg on the medley relay team that won a state title in 2010 and placed runner-up in 2011 ... twice collected all-state honors in the 200 IM (2011-12) ... twice earned all-state laurels in the 100 breast (2010-11) ... helped team to a pair of district championships (2011-12) ... named an All-American in the 200 medley relay ... foursome shattered the program record in that event ... was an AP Scholar.
PERSONAL: Carolyn Marie McCarty was born Feb. 11, 1994 in Boston, Mass. ... daughter of Paul and Agnes McCarty ... has two sisters, Gabriela and Elizabeth ... hobbies include skiing, golfing, reading and traveling ... enjoys watching baseball ... most memorable training experience was working with the German Bundeswehr ... spent the summer in Germany on AIAD and at CBT 1 ... has two nephews ... frogs are the best ... sister is spending the next year in Germany... majoring in German and international history.
