"I am so thrilled to add Katie to our coaching staff. I have looked up to Katie ever since I picked up a lacrosse stick. She has already been a huge part of our program but now to have her coaching our players and adding her knowledge to our staff has been a dream of mine since I got here. Katie brings one of the most decorated resumes you will come across. When you want to be the best, you bring the best. What impresses me most about Katie is the passion she has for the sport of lacrosse, her family and her players. We are so lucky to have her!" - Michelle Tumolo.
Erbe most recently served as the head coach of local James O'Neill High School's varsity women's lacrosse team in Highland Falls, N.Y.
Across her collegiate career with the Blue Devils from 2003-06, she helped Duke to a 61-18 record across her four years which featured three ACC regular season championships, one ACC Tournament title and four NCAA Tournament berths including two appearances in the Final Four. As a junior, she guided the Blue Devils to the first ACC Tournament crown in program history and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after totaling five goals and three assists in wins over archrival North Carolina and Virginia. With the award, she became the first player in ACC history to collect Rookie of the Year, Player of the Year and Tournament MVP. Erbe posted the program's single-season record for total points with 96 in 2005 which currently stands second and graduated as the school's all-time leader in both goals (216) and points (287), both of which still stand today as the program record. She earned the distinction as the top player in the country as the Tewaaraton Award winner in 2005. Erbe was also named the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse Attacker of the Year in 2005.
Following her collegiate career, Erbe enjoyed a successful career with the United States National Team, playing a key role on the championship-winning 2009 U.S. Women's World Cup Team.
