Scott Hobbs joined the Army West Point strength and conditioning staff in January 2017.
Before arriving at West Point, Hobbs was at the University of Pennsylvania assisting in the strength and conditioning of all varsity sports, including the Quakers football and women’s basketball teams, who were both 2016 Ivy League Champions.
Hobbs graduated with honors from St. Mary’s University, London (UK) in 2014 with a first-class bachelor’s degree in strength and conditioning science, and completed his post-graduate studies in sports rehabilitation.
While at St. Mary’s, he worked as a graduate assistant teaching undergraduate students on the strength and conditioning science degree program, and co-coordinated all of the varsity sports strength and conditioning provision.
During his time in London, Hobbs worked in premiership rugby, high performance rowing, varsity soccer, and youth weightlifting. He also consulted for an international level sprint hurdler.
In 2012, he studied abroad in the U.S. at DeSales University (PA) as part of his undergraduate degree. During this time, he directed the strength and conditioning for the Bulldogs’ men’s lacrosse program, who later placed fourth in the 2013 MAC Freedom Conference, and interned at Lehigh University primarily with the Mountain Hawks’ football and tennis teams.
Hobbs is a registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Level 1 British Weightlifting Coach, a Level 1 USA Track and Field Coach, and First Aid/CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross.
