No.13/14 Women’s Lacrosse Comes out Victorious on Senior Day over Lehigh

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point women's lacrosse secured their 12th win of the season against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (6-9, 1-7 Patriot League) on senior day by a score of 17-10. For Army (12-3, 7-1 Patriot League), the senior class accounted for 21 of the 29 Black Knight points. Senior Emma Grace Helper recorded a new single game points and goals record.
Notables
Lehigh scored first at 11:54, but the Black Knights responded immediately. Senior Emma Grace Hepler scored twice in 21 seconds, first off, a feed from senior Brooke Stocku and then from senior Allison Reilly, to give Army its first lead. After Lehigh tied it again, Stocku found sophomore Paige Moretti at 8:01, and senior Lily Valentini converted a man-up chance at 2:53 to secure Army a 4-3 lead after the first quarter.
Lehigh briefly surged ahead 6–4 to start the second quarter, but Moretti scored again at 4:46, and Valentini tied it at 3:06 off a Reilly feed. With 45 seconds left in the half, junior Geneva Milch Cesoni buried a pass from Reilly to give Army a 7–6 halftime lead.
Junior Ryan Remaly opened the second half with a man-up goal, and after Lehigh tied it twice, Valentini and Milch Cesoni answered with goals at 6:58 and 2:52. Senior Brigid Duffy added a powerful unassisted finish at 1:16 to push the lead to 11–9, and though Lehigh scored with nine seconds left, Army carried an 11–10 advantage into the fourth.
Army dominated the final frame, winning draws, forcing turnovers, and holding Lehigh scoreless for the final 15 minutes. Milch Cesoni scored twice in the first six minutes, including a finish off a Valentini assist. Duffy added back-to-back goals at 8:07 and 6:15, and Valentini delivered her fifth of the day at 5:09. Milch Cesoni capped the run with her fourth goal at 1:37, assisted by Reilly, sealing a 6–0 quarter.
