Wrestling to Conclude Home Slate with Hofstra and LIU

WEST POINT N.Y. – Army West Point wrestling will recognize 14 firstie cadet-athlete wrestlers Saturday night, in between the Black Knights' duals vs. Hofstra and LIU.
Army will take on Hofstra at 6:30 p.m. at Christl Arena, with the senior night ceremony to follow before returning to the mat vs. LIU, tentatively slated for 8:00 p.m. Both matchups Saturday night matchup will stream on FloWresling.
Ryan Alvarado, Ethan Berginc, Joseph Couch, Charlie Farmer, Wolfgang Frable, Ryan Franco, Cole Karpinski, Austin Kohlhofer, Kent McCombs, Trae McDaniel, Eli Pack, Shane Percelay, Cole Stone and Nain Vazquez will each be recognized in the senior day ceremony alongside select family members.
Army enters the weekend with Black Knights being named EIWA Wrestler of the Week in back-to-back weeks. Brady Colbert most recently won the accolade after claiming victory over Lehigh's Nathan Taylor at 285 lbs, ranked No. 5 in the Intermat Poll. Colbert—himself at No. 17 in Intermat at the time of the match—held a 4-1 lead in the final period and put any doubt aside in the closing moments with a late takedown and riding time point to win 8-1 on February 1.
One week earlier, Gunner Filipowicz won the conference honor after executing a Peterson maneuver on Bucknell's Noah Mullvaney, flipping the 165 lb Bison wrestler on his back after starting the period in the bottom position, and claiming a win by fall at the match's 3:23 mark on January 24.
The Black Knights also slated at No. 15 as a team in this week's NWCA Mid-Major rankings.
