Big First Half Fuels No. 17/21 Women’s Lacrosse to Win over Florida State

ATLANTA – Army West Point women's lacrosse defeated first year program Florida State (3-2) on Saturday evening by a score of 13-7. In the win for Army (3-1), senior Allison Reilly had a career high eight assists in the victory, earning a new program record for single game assists. The Black Knights scored 11 first half goals to help catapult them to the win.

- The Black Knights started the game fast winning the opening draw and scoring 14 seconds into the game on a junior Ryan Remaly shot to make it 1-0.
- Seniors Chloe Garrett and Brigid Duffy added three more goals to make it 4-0 under four minutes into the game.
- Florida State was able to find the back of the net, but Army responded with another four-goal run to make it 8-1 at the end of the first quarter. Senior Allison Reilly earned six assists in the first quarter.
- Army started the second quarter as they finished the first, Remaly scored her second of the day to extend the lead to 9-1 before the Seminoles added another. The Black Knights finished the first half on a two-goal run to make it 11-2 going into the half.
- Starting the second half, Florida State struck first but at 11:57 Reilly dodged underneath behind the net and beat her defender and shot it high past the Florida State goalkeeper.
- Florida State added two more goals to make it 12-5 before Reilly struck with her second of the day. Reilly caught the ball behind the cage and beat her defender with speed behind the net and took a jump shot as she crossed the goal line.
- The Seminoles scored two more goals in the fourth quarter to make it 13-7
