Army Athletics Welcomes Bryan Schneider as Director of Sports Medicine - Football

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Athletics has announced the hiring of Bryan Schneider, MEd, ATC, LAT, as the program's Director of Sports Medicine – Football. A seasoned leader in athletic training with nearly two decades of experience across collegiate and professional football, Schneider brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Black Knights.
Schneider arrives at West Point after serving as the Associate Director of Athletic Medicine and Head Football Athletic Trainer at Duke University, where he oversaw all aspects of care, prevention, and rehabilitation for Blue Devil football student-athletes. His responsibilities included performance team coordination, injury reporting, medical record management, and recruiting medical evaluations.
Prior to his time at Duke, Schneider held the position of Associate Sports Medicine Director and Head Football Athletic Trainer at James Madison University from 2018–2023. While at JMU, he played an instrumental role in policy development, injury prevention programming, and sports medicine staff oversight, helping support a championship-caliber football program during its rise to national prominence.
His experience also includes tenures at Western Kentucky University, Texas Tech University, and a season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, giving him a robust background across multiple levels of football. Schneider began his career as a graduate assistant at Auburn University and held internships with the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans.
Schneider earned his Master's in Education with an emphasis in Sports Management from Auburn University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Texas State University. He is a certified athletic trainer and active member of NATA, SEATA, and CATS, and has presented nationally on topics including mental health in athletics, concussion biomarkers, and injury management.
Schneider and his wife, Lisa and have a daughter, London.
