WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point head football coach Jeff Monken has announced the return of Eddie Hernon to the football staff as the Director of Scouting for the 2026 season.
Hernon previously spent the 2022 season at West Point serving as the program's Director of Player Personnel.
Hernon spent the last two seasons (2024-25) as the General Manager of the UConn Huskies football program under Jim Mora.
Before his initial stint with the Black Knights, Hernon spent five seasons with Princeton University as the Director of Player Personnel & Defensive/Special Teams Quality Control. During his tenure, he helped guide the Tigers to three Ivy League Championships, a 40-10 overall record (including a 27-3 mark over his final three seasons), and also served as the program's NFL liaison.
A premier recruiter, Hernon spearheaded Princeton's efforts to land the top-ranked recruiting class in all of FCS Football in both 2018 and 2020, while finishing in the top three nationally in his other three seasons. On the field, he assisted a defensive unit that finished in the top 10 nationally during three separate campaigns, and a kickoff coverage unit that led the country in 2019 by allowing just 190 return yards.
Hernon's extensive background also includes NFL experience, having served as a Scouting Project Consultant for the Cleveland Browns from 2015 to 2017. He also worked as a Video Assistant at Rutgers University from 2010 to 2013.
He earned his bachelor's degree in Journalism & Media Studies from Rutgers in 2012 and completed his master's degree in Sports Industry Management at Georgetown University in 2014.
