May 06, 2025 | Men's Track and Field
WEST POINT, N.Y. — Nathan Davis, Javan Guevara-Cragwell, Jaxon Hammond and Brian McSweeney were selected as members of the Patriot League Academic All-League Team.
The four honorees are a part of the 21-member team, with Army West Point contributing the second most members on the Academic All-League Team this season, just behind Boston University, which had five honorees.
Voting for the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Men's Academic All-Patriot League Team is conducted by the League men's outdoor track and field sports information directors.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a key player in their sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
Nathan Davis, a junior distance runner from East Greenbush, N.Y., earns his first academic honor of the season after seeing two first-place finishes at the Patriot League Championships, winning both the 3,000m steeplechase and the 5,000m run on Saturday.
Davis finished both runs with 10:23.69 and 13:55.70 final times, respectively. Davis was also a part of the second-place 4x800m relay team.
Javan Guevara-Cragwell, a senior jumper from Derby, Connecticut, also earned his first academic honor of the season after placing first in the triple jump at the Patriot League Championships with the final mark of 15.37m (50' 5 ¼").
Jaxon Hammond, a sophomore sprinter and multi-sport athlete from Memphis, Tennessee, earns his second academic award from the league this season after also being named to the Indoor Track and Field Men's Academic Team in March.
The sophomore finished the Patriot League Championships with two second-place finishes, earning silver in both the 100m dash and 4x100m relay.
Senior pole vaulter from East Brunswick, New Jersey, Brian McSweeney, rounds out the group of honorees for the Black Knights. McSweeney also earned academic honors for the indoor season, just like Hammond.
In his final Patriot League competition of his career, he earned gold in the pole vault with a final mark of 5.26m (17' 3").
