Golf atop the Leaderboard at Patriot League Championship

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Army West Point golf team had four players score even par or better in the second round of the Patriot League Championship and the Black Knights are leading the tournament heading into the final round on Sunday. Â
The Black Knights shot 4-under as a team on the second day to move to the top of the leaderboard at 3-under par for the tournament. Loyola's Gustavo Rangel took over the individual lead with a 3-under 67 on Saturday and has a one-shot lead over Nolan Schuermann of Holy Cross and Lafayette's Quint Dingledine.
TOURNAMENT NOTES:
• Dragon Theam posted another 1-under round of 69 on Saturday to remain in the fourth spot on the individual leaderboard at 2-under par.
• John Heckel Jr. is tied with Theam in fourth after a 1-over 71 on Saturday and both are two shots back from the leader.
• Rookie Griffin Garvin was steady all day long with an even par 70 and posted 16 pars, along with a birdie and a bogey during his round.
• Garvin sits in a tie for 14th on the individual leaderboard.
• Drew Jeffords helped Army push to the team lead with a 2-under 68 on Saturday as he posted six birdies.
• Jeffords improved eight shots between the first and second day and now is tied for 23rd.
• Josh Kim joined Jeffords with a big turnaround on Saturday with a 1-under 69, which was a six-shot improvement between rounds.
• Kim was 2-under on the front nine and was able to be steady on the back to reach 1-under for the day.
The Black Knights will start their tee times at 10 AM in the final round on Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club.
