No. 4 Men’s Lacrosse Stuns Bucknell in Second Half on Senior Day

WEST POINT, N.Y. – No. 4 Army West Point men's lacrosse (11-1, 6-1 Patriot League) claimed a 20-11 win over the Bucknell Bison (5-8, 2-5 Patriot League) on the Black Knights' Senior Day Saturday at Michie Stadium. The Black Knights put on a stellar performance over 60 minutes of action with records and career bests from several squad members.
Senior faceoff specialist Will Coletti set a new Patriot League record for career faceoff wins as he surpassed former Lehigh faceoff specialist Mike Sisselberger's career total of 742. With his 19 faceoff wins against the Bison, Coletti totals 750 faceoff wins in his career so far.
Army's attacking unit kicked it into high gear in the second half against the Bison, led by Jackson Eicher and Gunnar Fellows. Eicher buried seven goals and three assists for a 10-point day while Fellows tallied five goals and two assists for a seven-point day – career highs in both goals and points for both Black Knights.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After honoring the Black Knights' 22-man senior class and two senior managers in their pregame ceremony, Army jumped out to a four-goal lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter as Aiden Weisenborn, Jackson Eicher, and Gunnar Fellows each put goals on the board in the first eight minutes of action.
Bucknell evened things up in the last six minutes of play in the first quarter, just the second time the Black Knights have been tied after the first quarter of a game this season.
Army dominated the second quarter with Christian Fournier, Finn McCullough, and Ryan Nixon all notching goals in the first six minutes of the second quarter.
The Bison put up a pair of goals to draw within one of Army's lead but Jackson Eicher added two more goals to his tally to complete his eighth hat trick of the season with goals from Andrew Miller and Brayden Fountain to extend Army to an 11-7 lead at the half.
Jackson Eicher and Gunnar Fellows put on a clinic in the third quarter as Eicher put away three more goals while Fellows buried four goals in the third quarter to push Army to an 18-9 lead moving into the third quarter.
Mike Harney and Grant Masterson each added goals in the fourth quarter to extend Army's lead to a 20-11 lead that held through the final whistle securing Army's fourth season with at least 11 wins in the last five years.

- The Black Knights are now 34-14 against Bucknell with an 8-2 mark in their last 10 games against the Bison.

- The Black Knights' 20 goal win marks the team's highest goal total in a single game since Feb. 21st, 2023 when they won 20-6 against Wagner and its first 20-goal game against a Patriot League opponent since April 29th, 2003 – a 20-6 win over Lafayette.
- Ten different Black Knights earned a spot in the goal column with 17 Black Knights recording points in the game. Army totaled 36 points in the contest between 20 goals and 16 assists.
- Three goalkeepers saw time between the pipes for Army. Sean Byrne spent 45 minutes in goal, picking up seven saves during his time on the field with nine goals allowed. Evan Richardson saw just over 11 minutes of action, allowing two goals and logging three saves. Bennet Ong spent nearly four minutes on the field, earning two saves and holding off a late push by the Bison to secure Army's nine goal advantage through the final whistle.
