Cheney, Fink Named to Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Mikayla Cheney and Emily Fink were named to two of the Patriot League's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards on Tuesday.
Mikayla Cheney was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Cheney wins the award after running 4:21.71 in the 1500m and 2:08.00 in the 800m at Raleigh Relays in North Carolina. Her marks currently rank No. 1 in the Patriot League in both events.
Emily Fink was named Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Fink earns the award after winning the hammer throw at the Monmouth Season Opener with a throw of 67.52m (221' 6").
The mark now stands as the No. 2 mark in all of NCAA Division I competition. Alongside that, Emily Fink not only broke a program record with the mark but also a Service Academy record with her mark thrown on Friday.
On the men's side, junior thrower Robby Manse received an honorable mention in this week's voting.
Manse placed second in both the shot put and hammer throw at the Monmouth Season Opener with a shot put toss of 17.49m ( 57' 4.75") and a hammer throw of 60.13m (197' 3"). His marks currently lead the Patriot League in both events.
Cheney, Fink and the rest of the Army Track and Field team will compete in one of the biggest meets of the season on Saturday as they head to Annapolis, Maryland for the annual outdoor Star Meet against Navy.
The two academies will battle each other on the track and in the field beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Ingram Field.
