February 24, 2026 | Women's Track and Field
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Jordan Hecht had a record-breaking performance on Saturday at the West Point Tune-Up and was named the Patriot League Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Hecht, a junior from Apple Valley, Minn., set the new Gillis Field House record in the shot put with a mark of 16.60m to win the event and record a personal best. She also finished fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 16.26m.
"Through all the ups and downs in training this year, Jordan has trusted the process," said assistant coach Brian Woodbury. "Her trust has resulted in a confidence that allows her to compete with the freedom to decide how good she wants to be. She will compete to dominate and win every time she steps in the ring. She once again showed that this weekend by throwing 16.60m (54'5.5") in the shot put, breaking our facility record at Gillis Field House. Well-deserved congratulations to Jordan and our team for making some more history at West Point!"
Hecht has competed in the shot put in eight meets this season and has won the shot put seven times. Her 16.60m mark is the top in the Patriot League by over one meter. Nationally, her distance is top 30. In the weight throw, Hecht ranks ninth in the conference.
Both the men's and women's team will be back in action this weekend, as it travels to Boston for the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday.
