Baseball Drops Series Opener at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. – Army West Point Baseball couldn't overcome the Fordham Rams Friday afternoon, falling 9-2 on a windy day in the shadow of the New York Botanical Garden.

Trey Ates started on the mound for Army, delivering a scoreless second and third inning and a trio of strikeouts.
Â
However, the native Texan took the loss for Army, allowing runs in the first and fourth innings.Â

Kevin Reavey collected two outs for the Black Knights in relief, before Walker Calvo collected a shutout fifth and sixth inning. Kaden Youmans also recorded two scoreless relief frames.Â

Army got on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh, with a Chris Barr two-out infield single to score pinch-runner John McKillop. Justin Lehman added another RBI an inning later with a double to score Addison Ainsworth.Â
