March 26, 2025 | Men's Basketball
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Senior guard Jalen Rucker added one more honor to his resume on Wednesday, being named to the Purple CBI All-Tournament Team.
Jalen Rucker earns the honor after finishing the tournament in Daytona Beach averaging 26 points a game while shooting 40 percent from the floor and 38.7 percent from the three-point line. He also averaged four assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals a game.
The senior helped lead the Black Knights to an opening-round win against Elon on Sunday, which broke a 55-year postseason tournament win drought for the Black Knights. Before the historic win on Sunday, the last postseason win for the program in the postseason came in the 1970 National Invitational Tournament (NIT).
In the historic win, Jalen Rucker led the team with a game-high 27 points and six assists alongside two rebounds and two steals.
In the Black Knights' narrow quarterfinal loss to the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles, Jalen Rucker led all scorers for the second consecutive game with 25 points alongside five rebounds, three steals and two assists.
The all-tournament team honor adds to another postseason award for the senior, which includes being named to the Patriot League All-League First Team and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) North Atlantic District First Team.
