Baseball Drops Game in Ninth Inning
February 22, 2025 | Baseball
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the second game in a row, Army West Point Baseball surrendered a run in the ninth inning to drop a contest to the Wofford Terriers.
On Saturday, it was Wofford's Tyler Hare with a walk-off home run as the Black Knights fell 2-1 at Russell C. King Field.
Army scored first Saturday, on a Jack Quinlan RBI double to score Justin Lehman. It was the catcher's first career RBI.
A bases-loaded walk issued gave Wofford its first run of the game, tying the matchup 1-1 in the fourth.
Starting Pitcher Andrew Berg went 4.1 innings, striking out seven and allowing just one run.
Robbie Penswick entered in relief of Berg in the fifth, allowing just one run and picking up a strikeout over four innings pitched. However, the sophomore would also take the decision.

4: Penswick's four innings-pitched tied a career-high.
2-for-4: Addison Ainsworth went 2-for-4 Saturday.
