Track and Field Sends Nine to NCAA East Regional Preliminary Round

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point track and field team will be sending nine athletes to the NCAA East Regional Preliminary Round in Lexington, KY.

Jacob Bowersock qualifies in the discus with a team best throw of 54.16m. Nathan Davis qualified in the 3k steeplechase after running a 8:43.47. Josh Gilliard made it in the high jump with a jump of 2.11m. Luke Griner's impressive year continues with his 800m time of 1:47.36 to qualify. Robby Manse qualifies in the shot put after his throw of 17.95m. Brian Matthews checks in at 50.92 in the 400m hurdles. Rounding out the qualifiers for the men is Cam Smith who had a 67.05m throw in the hammer throw this season. On the women's side Emily Fink made it in the hammer throw with a throw of 65.81m. The program record holder for the javelin, Brooke Stratman qualified with a record throw of 53.18m.

The event will take place in Lexington, KY on May 22-25.
