Four Black Knights Take Home Patriot League Weekly Track and Field Awards

BETHELHEM, Pa. – The Army West Point track and field team cleaned up in the weekly Patriot League awards.
M. Field Athlete: Joshua Gilliard
W. Field Athlete: Emily Fink
M. Rookie: Jaxon Hammond
W. Rookie: Mikayla Cheney
Women's Field Athlete - Emily Fink
Fink took second place in the women's hammer throw at Florida Relays with a conference leading toss of 63.11m. She is currently ranked number 16 in the NCAA and number one in the Patriot League.
Men's Field Athlete - Joshua Gilliard
Gilliard won the men's collegiate high jump at the prestigious Florida Relays with a conference leading jump of 2.11m. Gilliard now sits at 29th in the NCAA and number one in the Patriot League.
Women's Track Athlete - Mikayla Cheney
Cheney broke the academy record this Friday in the 1500m with a time of 4:22.80 to take sixth in the invite 1500m under the lights at the Pepsi Florida Relays. The following day she PR'd again with another conference leading time of 2:09.01 in the 800m. Her performances this weekend lead the conference in both the 800m and 1500m run.
Men's Rookie - Jaxon Hammond
Hammond clocked a collegiate PR of 10.68 against a highly competitive field at the Florida Relays this weekend. He also led off the 10th place finishing 4x100m relay team to a new season best of 40.90. Hammond is now tied at third in the League in the 100m with his teammate Joshua Duncan.
