Softball Falls to Fordham

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point softball team (8-26) fell to Fordham (18-19-1) in their midweek non-conference matchup.
Both Army and Fordham were scoreless through the first three innings. Army's starting pitcher, Katelyn Flanders, held the Rams to only one hit, while Fordham's starting pitcher, Bailey Enoch, held Army to two.
It was not until the bottom of the fourth that Fordham was able to get on the board. The Rams scored two runs off back-to-back home runs from Sydney Wells and Eva Koratsis.
Fordham's pitcher and hitters continued their momentum throughout the game, scoring three more runs in the top of the fifth, followed by an additional three in the top of the seventh, and not allowing Army to score until the bottom of the seventh.
Mia Bonsignore picked up an RBI, sending Lauren Little home to prevent the shutout.
The Black Knights were unable to catch up and ended up falling, 8-1.
The Black Knights will be back in action this weekend when they host Lafayette in another Patriot League series match up.
