WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's lacrosse team tied its highest ranking ever on Monday afternoon when the USILA Coaches Poll ranked the Black Knights No. 2 in the country.
This is the first time the Cadets are ranked No. 2 since April 19, 1982. Army is 5-0 for the first time since 1993 after wins at No. 7/9 Syracuse and Lafayette this past week.
Based off the current rankings, the Black Knights now have wins over No. 9 Syracuse, No. 16 Rutgers, and No. 20 UMass, none of which were at Michie Stadium.
The Black Knights also check in at No. 1 in the RPI which is a first in program history as well.
Inside Lacrosse's Media Poll has Army at No. 3 and USA Lacrosse Magazine has the Cadets at No. 5, their highest rankings of the season in either poll.
