MURFREESBORO, TENN. – The Army West Point softball team (2-16) battled North Alabama and Detroit Mercy in a Saturday evening doubleheader apart of the MTSU Invitational, dropping the first game, 1-0 to North Alabama and defeating Detroit Mercy, 7-0 in Game 2.
Game 1 vs. North Alabama
Army starting pitcher Amanda Eaglin (0-7) was masterful but Army just could not muster the run support she needed. Eaglin tossed six scoreless innings, as Army and North Alabama were tied at 0-0 heading into the seventh inning.
In the top half of the seventh, the Lions would break the scoreless tie on an RBI double to plate the game's only run.

Eaglin's final line was a complete game, 7.0 innings pitched, surrendering just one run on six hits.
Ashton White and Julia Farris were both 2-for-4 at the dish.
North Alabama's Kyleigh Pitzer picked up the win, working a complete game, yielding only six hits, and striking out three.
