Men's Lacrosse Ranked in Top Five for First Time Since 2005

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's lacrosse team is ranked top five for the first time since 2005 when it peaked no. 4 in the USILA poll.
The Black Knights were ranked no. 5 in this weeks USILA poll, no. 6 in the USA Lax Mag poll, and no. 7 in the Inside Lacrosse poll.
The ranking comes after a big win on the road at then no. 11/12 Rutgers. Army dominated its way to a 16-7 victory behind four goals and two assists from Evan Plunkett, and hat tricks from Jackson Eicher, Gunnar Fellows, Jacob Morin. Will Coletti continued to be brilliant at the faceoff x, going 17-25. He became the program leader in faceoff wins and currently sits at 487 in his career. He also moved just five ground balls away from setting the program record for most ground balls.
The Black Knights will faceoff against Mercer of Feb. 24 for the home opener at Michie Stadium. Last season the Black Knights faced the Bears and came away with a 16-5 win in Georgia.
