Softball Heads Back to Florida for Panther Invitational
February 15, 2024 | Softball
MIAMI, Fla. – The Army West Point softball team packs its bags and heads right back to Florida to participate in the Panther Invitational, hosted by Florida International University.
Army will be in a four-team tournament vs. Rutgers, FIU and Duke.
Army will play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 10 am vs. Rutgers and FIU and then play Duke on Saturday at 10 am. Following the completion of pool play, Army will be seeded one through four and play a second game on Saturday in the tournament portion of the weekend.
The 2nd vs. 3rd game would be Saturday at 3 p.m. and the 1st vs. 4th game would be at 5:30 pm.
Following these games, the winners would play Sunday in the championship game and the two losers from Saturday would meet in the third-place game.
Tentatively, the third-place game would be at 9 am on Sunday and the championship game would be after at 11:30 am. However, FIU (the host team), will play in the 11:30 am Sunday game no matter what, so there is a scenario where the championship game is at 9 am if it does not feature FIU.
Tournament schedule after pool play
2/17 – 2nd vs. 3rd, 3 p.m.
2/17 – 1st vs. 4th, 5:30 p.m.
2/18 – L vs. L, 9 a.m.
2/18 – W vs. W, 11:30 a.m. (This flips if FIU is not in Championship Game)
Unfortunately, no streaming option is available for fans this weekend, but live stats can be found on the schedule.
