Sprint Football Clinches Title Game Berth Behind Trouncing of Cornell

While the opponent for the Army Sprint Football was the Cornell Big Red Friday night, the Black Knights will have the opportunity to defeat their rivals for the second time in 2024.

That's because the CSFL Championship game is now set, between Army and Navy at Shea Stadium in two weeks.

Army secured its spot in the title game behind a one-sided 56-0 trouncing of Cornell Friday night.

The Black Knights outgained the Big Red 371-109 in total yardage and did not turn the ball over. Meanwhile, Kyle West went 9-for-12 with 81 yards through the air before giving way to Carson McFadden in the first half. McFadden was 11-for-16 for 146 passing yards.

Army opened the scoring with a Devon Brown 24-yard catch from West in the first quarter. The home team doubled its lead later in the quarter on the first of Henry Beck's three touchdowns.

Beck exploded for two second quarter touchdowns of 67 and 74 yards to put Army ahead 28-0 with 10:57 to play in the opening half. JP Ross added two scores of his own later in the period to make it 42-0 at halftime.

Beck led Army with 204 yards on the ground. Gabriel Bolivar added 91 yards on 17 carries, while Trystin Davis ran it eight times for 45 yards.

Matthew Tilley caught a 10-yard pass from McFadden in the third quarter before Steven Craig caught McFadden second touchdown pass of the evening in the fourth.

Army will conclude the regular season next Friday at Molloy. Kickoff from Rockville Center is set for 7:00 p.m.
