Jonathan Delano Elevated to Associate Head Men's Soccer Coach
September 21, 2023 | Men's Soccer
West Point, NY – The Army West Point Men's Soccer team has elevated Jonathan Delano to associate head men's soccer coach.
Delano enters his third season with the Black Knights, spending the previous two as assistant coach. The squad had a successful 2022 campaign. In his second season, he helped lead Army to one of its best seasons in decades. Delano alongside head coach Brian Plotkin, guided the Black Knights to an overall record of 8-5-3 while going 5-1-3 in conference play, including a huge win over Navy in Philadelphia. Losing just one game in the last 13 of the season, the Black Knights captured the Patriot League regular season championship.
Head coach Brian Plotkin had nothing but praises for Delano saying, "Jon is an elite coach, but a better person and educator, and one that is a model to our cadet athletes. Any program in the country would be lucky to have him and we are fortunate he's here at West Point. This is well deserved and his impact on our program is immeasurable."
The Black Knights are currently 1-0 in conference play and 3-3 overall and will look to continue to improve as the 2023 season goes on.
