Golf Plays Through Rainy First Round

PHOENIX, Md. – The Army West Point golf team played through a rain-soaked first round at the Patriot League Championships on Friday at Hillendale Country Club.

The Black Knights finished day one with a team score of 319 (+31), while John Heckel Jr. was the bright spot. He is tied atop the leaderboard with Robbie Herzig of Colgate after an opening round 75 (+3). He had a pair of birdies on the back nine and spent most of his round around even par.
