Heckel Jr. Leads Golf in Second Round of PL Championships

PHOENIX, Md. – The Army West Point golf team wrapped up the second round of play at the Patriot League Championships at Hillendale Country Club.

The Black Knights sit in seventh place after the second round with a time score of 620 (+44).

John Heckel Jr. continued his impressive play and is one stroke back in second place on the player leaderboard. He shot an even par 72 on a better day on the course and is just behind of Yuxuan Song of Lehigh, who scored a 2-under 70 in round two. Heckel finished with three birdies during his round.

Gary Bullard rebounded from a tough first round and carded a 1-over 73 in the second round with two birdies.

The final round is scheduled to start on Sunday morning at 8 am and will be a shotgun start due to the weather forecast for Sunday afternoon in Maryland. Follow Army Golf on Twitter at @ArmyWP_Golf.
