Golf Leads CIC Cup After Two Rounds

GAINESVILLE, Va. – The Army West Point golf team lead the CIC Cup by 13 strokes following the first 36 holes of the tournament at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

The Black Knights currently sit at the top of the leaderboard with a team score of 898 (+34). Army shaved 10 strokes off its score in the second round and had the lowest round as a team at 444 (+12). Navy's Keegan Shreeves is at the top of the player leaderboard thanks to a 1-under 71 in round one and then an even par 72 in the afternoon. The Black Knights had three players in the top five on the player leaderboard.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• Josh Kim and Samuel Kim both finished the first 36 holes in a tie for third at 3-over.
• Each Cadet fired a 2-over 74 in round one and followed that up with a 1-over 73.
• Both straightened out their game in the second round as Josh had 13-straight pars to end his round and Samuel posted four birdies in his second round.
• Gary Bullard posted a 1-over 73 in round two, including a 1-under back nine to come into the clubhouse at 4-over after 36 holes.
• James Ballato and Marshall Daniel both are in the top 10 on the player leaderboard as well.

The service academies return to the course Tuesday morning with opening tee shots at 8 AM to start the final round.
