Men's Tennis Falls in Nailbiter to Navy, 4-3

WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point men's tennis (18-11, 6-1 Patriot League) fell in its star-series matchup against Navy (20-19, 6-0 Patriot League) 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.
The Black Knights battled back from a 3-0 deficit to make it a 3-3 contest before eventually suffering its first Patriot League defeat of the season.
Navy got off to a dream start taking the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. The Midshipmen then picked up singles victories on courts one and five to get out to a commanding 3-0 lead.
Thomas Lake began the comeback for the Black Knights, getting a break at 5-5 in the first set before holding to secure the set. Lake cruised in the second set to claim a (7-5, 6-2) victory which made it a 3-1 contest.
Samuel Eden won the first set before falling in set two as one of three eventual three-set matches. Eden clutched up in third set to pick up a (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) victory which brought Army back within one at 3-2.
Samuel Haikal was next in line, winning the first set before falling in set two. Haikal battled to an eventual tiebreak in the third set, coming out on top 7-4 to tie the match up at 3-3 with his (6-2, 5-7, 7-6) win.
Navy was able to secure the match minutes later, with a third-set victory on court three as Army's comeback effort fell just short in a 4-3 defeat.
