Three Black Knights Earn All-Patriot League Honors
May 01, 2026 | Men's Tennis
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Three Black Knights were named to the 2026 Patriot League Men's Tennis All-League Teams, the conference announced on Friday afternoon. Jackson Armistead and Jimin Jung were named to the First Team, while Alan Ton was named to the Second Team.
Armistead, a sophomore from Boca Raton, Fla., was Army's top singles player this season, putting together a 10-6 record, including an 8-6 mark in the No. 1 spot. He was also undefeated in conference play, going 2-0. His signature win this season came in Army's 4-3 victory over Bucknell. Armsitead took down Patriot League Player of the Year Amar Tahirovic, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
This is the second consecutive season that Armistead has been named All-Patriot League First Team.
Jung, a freshman from Cary, N.C., joined Armistead at the top of the lineup all season, playing a mix of No. 1 and No. 2 en route to a 10-5 record. Jung went 3-2 while playing in the top position and 7-2 at the second spot. The freshman recorded impressive wins over Lamar, UC Irvine and Bucknell. He was 2-1 in conference play.
The North Carolinian also had seven doubles wins this spring, including three in top spot.
"I am extremely pleased Jackson and Jimin were selected to the First Team," Head Coach Randy Rowley said. "Obviously with them playing one and two for us, we were excited about the level they brought to the program but most importantly it tells you just what type of young men they are. Both are transfers from Power Four programs, but they both demanded so much more from themselves which is why they choose to transfer here. They both knew full well they would have to start over their collegiate careers as freshmen. But they had a vision of learning leadership and knowing upon graduation they would go into the world as Army officers, leading young men and women in the protection and defense of this great country. This is a wonderful honor they both truly deserve."
Army's final all-conference honor went to Ton, a junior from Fountain Valley, Calif. Ton led Army with 11 singles wins this season and provided stability all throughout the lineup. The junior recorded wins at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 spots, with No. 3 being his primary position in singles. He went 2-1 in conference play, while also recording three doubles wins.
"We're extremely happy that Alan was recognized for his impressive season," Rowley said. "He has put in a great deal of work this semester to improve myself as not just a better tennis player but to also work towards being a future team captain for the Army men's tennis program. Although the award was given to him as a tennis player we know at the Academy that all awards go much further than just being a cadet-athlete. Congratulations to Alan Ton from his teammates, the coaches and support staff.
Army's three all-conference honors are tied with Navy for the most in the league.
