Brigid Duffy Claims Patriot League Rookie of the Week; Marking Fourth Weekly Honor of Season

BETHLEHEM, PA - No. 13Â Army West Point women's lacrosse freshman phenom Brigid Duffy claimed her third Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor of the season, announced today by the league.
Duffy continued to dominate when called upon, scoring eight goals and assisting twice this past week as Army improved to 8-0 this season. Duffy scored five times in the win against Siena including four in the first half to help open up an eight-goal lead. She added a game-high nine draw controls along with a caused turnover and ground ball. Returning against Holy Cross, Duffy deposited three goals while assisting twice and picking up five draw controls as Army led 15-3 at the half en route to a 23-6 victory. Duffy's 31 goals currently ranks seventh in the NCAA and second among freshmen nationally. She leads the Patriot League in goals and goals per game while landing in second in points and points per game. Duffy also ranks in the top top-seven in the conference in draw controls and draw controls per game and has scored multiple goals in every game this season. This marks the fourth weekly honor from the Patriot League this season for Duffy, with a Midfielder of the Week and three Rookie of the Week awards.
Army returns this Saturday for a Patriot League contest against Colgate at 3:30 p.m. from Michie Stadium.
