Softball Falls to #1 Ranked Oklahoma, 9-0

WACO, TX – Army West Point softball (2-5) fell 9-0 on Saturday evening to #1 ranked Oklahoma University. Sooners' pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter in the five-inning run rule game.
May (2-0) worked 4.0 innings, striking out 10. Jordy Bahl worked one inning and logged one strikeout.
Oklahoma scored three in the first, including an RBI double by Alyssa Brito which plated Grace Lyons.
Tiare Jennings blasted a 2-run home run to left field in the second inning to extend the Sooner lead, 5-0.
In the fourth, Jocelyn Erickson hit a 3-run home run and Cydney Sanders hit an RBI single, pushing the score to 9-0.
Army starter Alicyn Grete (1-3) worked 3.1 innings, giving eight runs, only five earned on seven hits.
As a team, Oklahoma pounded out five extra base hits, two homers and three doubles.
In the Getterman Classic, Oklahoma is 3-0 and have outscored opponents by a combined score of 41-0, with Army's defeat being the smallest deficit.
The Black Knights will be back on the diamond tomorrow to play two games at 11am EST vs. Longwood and at 3pm EST vs. Baylor (ESPN +).
