Sprint Moves to 6-0 in 35-7 Victory Over Caldwell

CALDWELL, N.J. – Army West Point sprint football moved to 6-0 on Saturday afternoon with a 35-7 win over Caldwell.
After a first place turnover, the Black Knight defense got thrown into the fire with the Cougars starting at the Army 33. After forcing fourth down the Cougars elected to go for it form the 27 when Christian Dionisio got to the quarterback to force a turnover on downs.
The Black Knights would stop yet another Caldwell fourth down attempt to get the ball at the Caldwell 33. After a 21 yard pass from Mikal Willeke to Kobe Semien, the Army offense got moving. A steady does of Henry Beck got the Black Knights into the endzone and after an Alex Perine PAT they were up 7-0.
The Black Knights defense stopped the Cougars on fourth down again, this time it was on fourth and one at their own 46 yard line.
Army would be unable to turn it into points however after having a field goal attempt blocked.
Caldwell would attempt to go for it on fourth down for a fourth time and for a fourth time it was stopped by the Black Knight defense. This time Willeke and company would only need one play as he found Maurice Bellan for a 67 yard touchdown pass to go up 14-0.
Caldwell responded with a score of their own. It was the first touchdown Army had given up since Sep. 29 against Penn in their 31-7 win.
Arthur Lavalais matched the Cougar score with one of his own, scoring from one yard out to go up 21-7. That would be the score at halftime.
Lavalais would open the second half scoring with another one yard touchdown run that he set up with a 29 yard rush earlier in the drive.
In the fourth Seth Brown came in at quarterback and he led a touchdown drvie after finding Cason Mackie in the endzone from 19 yards out to make it a 35-7 ball game.
That score would hold and the Black Knights now turn their attention to the CSFL Championship Game against Navy on Nov. 12 at Shea Stadium. The game will kickoff at 1 p.m. and be streamed on KnightVision.
