Joey Baez Earns Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week

BOSTON, MA - Army West Point hockey junior forward Joey Baez was named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week, announced today by the league.
Baez scored three goals over the weekend which saw Army split its series at home against Canisius. In game one, Baez scored an unassisted goal in the second period of game one in the series, before scoring a spectacular "Michigan" lacrosse-style goal to give the Black Knights a third period lead. Baez repeated the feat of giving Army a late lead in game two, depositing his team-leading fifth goal of the season which stood as the eventually game-winner.
It marks the second career Atlantic Hockey weekly honor for Baez, who was a second team all-league selection this past season after leading the conference in power-play goals and scoring 21 times. It also marks the first weekly Atlantic Hockey award that the Black Knights have received this season.
Army returns to the ice tomorrow for an Atlantic Hockey contest on the road against Holy Cross, with puck drop set for 7:00 p.m.
