HAMILTON, N.Y. – In a match featuring the league's two unbeaten teams in conference play, the Army Black Knights were defeated in three sets by preseason favorite Colgate on Friday night.
Match Synopsis
The Black Knights had their five-match win streak and 4-0 unbeaten conference record come to an end by the Raiders who never trailed in the entire match.
In the opening set, Colgate broke a 12-12 tie with a 7-2 run on its way to a 25-17 set win. The Black Knights trailed 12-5 in the second set before using a strong blocking game at the net to pull itself back into the set. The Black Knights scored four of their next five points off blocks to cut the lead to 13-10.
Army tied the set at 18-18 after kills by Mackenzie Lynch, Savannah Bray and Paige Fixemer. Colgate answered with three straight points and held off Army to close out the set, 25-20.
The Raiders scored the first three points in the third set as they closed out the match with a 25-14 win.
Cadets Capsules
- Allanah Cutler led the team in points with 9.5 and shared team-high marks in kills with nine. She also had a match-best .450 hitting percentage.
- Savannah Bray had nine kills and added seven digs.
- Diana Ethridge had a match-high 25 assists.
- Paige Fixemer chipped in eight kills.
- Sayler Butters led the match in digs with 25.

- Army suffered its first conference loss of the season, snapping its best start to league play since 2009.
