SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Army Black Knights volleyball team wrapped up play at the Syracuse Tournament on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over the Hofstra Pride.

Match Summary
Army used a strong finish to take the first set which was the most competitive featuring 10 ties and four lead changes.

After Hofstra tied the set at 21-21, Julia Johnson answered with a kill and Army scored on the next play on an attacking error for a 23-21 lead. The Black Knights closed the set with a block by Allanah Cutler.
The Black Knights raced out to a 9-3 lead to start the second set. Army managed at least a five-point lead throughout the rest of the set en route to a 25-19 win. Army used another fast start to build a 5-2 lead; however, the Pride tied the set at 6-6. Mackenzie Lynch broke the tie to start a string of four straight points.
Cutler took over the set halfway through, with three straight kills for an 18-10 lead. Hofstra trimmed Army's lead to 22-20 and was serving to tie the set at 24 but Paige Fixemer ended the match for the Black Knights with a kill.

It was a tough loss against Yale yesterday and the team bounced back confidently today. We are ready to start conference. Allanah Cutler finished with 13 kills to lead the match.
Mackenzie Lynch had eight kills and four block assists.
Julia Johnson added seven kills and seven digs.
Diana Ethridge had a match-high 33 assists and added seven digs.
