WEST POINT, N.Y – The Army Black Knights began Patriot League play with a dramatic comeback win over the American Eagles on Friday night.

Match Summary
Army found itself in a 2-0 deficit after dropping the first two sets. The Eagles rallied to take the first set, 25-23, and pulled away to take the second set 25-21.

The Black Knights got back in the match by holding off the Eagles in the third set. Army led 17-9 before seeing its lead get cut to 21-20. Allanah Cutler notched one of her team-high 16 kills put the Black Knights up 22-20. However, American scored four straight points to have match point. Paige Fixemer kept the match alive with a kill, and after two attacking errors by the Eagles, the Black Knights won the set on an ace by Isabella Sullivan.

The Black Knights found their groove in the fourth set, only trailing after the opening point. Army had a match-high 66 percent sideout in the set. Army won the fourth set, 25-17, to setup the deciding fifth set.
Army fell behind 3-1, but went on a 6-1 run behind another strong service game by Sullivan. With the set tied at 8-8, the Black Knights steamrolled their way to close the match on a 7-1 run.

Cadets Capsules

Allanah Cutler had a team-high 16 kills which are a season-high.
Savannah Bray had a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs.
Paige Fixemer added 10 kills and led the team in block solos (2) and block assists (6).
Diana Ethridge had a team-high 32 assists.
Sayler Butters recorded a match-high 23 digs.
